We’re still at Mayo as the team continues working to help Nichole. Multiple attempts have been made to relieve her bowel obstruction, but with little success so far. Imaging has shown a painful mass in her transverse colon along with a significant amount of stool buildup.
At this point, there are very few less invasive options left to manually clear the blockage. Nichole continues to experience severe, wave-like abdominal pain as her care team monitors her closely and evaluates next steps.
Caden, Hara, and Sophie visited today. While it was difficult for them to see her in such distress, they remained strong and supportive throughout.
